Testimonial of Dr Emalia Peterson MBChB

12 August 2005

George and I worked together on his 12 Week Challenge during late 2004 and then repeated an 8 week program during early 2005. These programs involved a healthy eating plan, and exercise sessions both independent and supervised by George.

During this time, I lost all of my pre-pregnancy weight – a stubborn 8 kilograms that breastfeeding and my own ‘diet’ was not shifting. I also lost a total of 42cm from my body measurements – two dress sizes. This included eleven centimetres from my thighs and ten and a half centimetres from my hips. From week three in the program I started received positive comments from friends, family and workmates about my size, shape, fitness and overall wellness. These comments continue to flow twelve months later as I continue to work on the principles that George taught me in maintaining a healthier lifestyle.

George brings a professional approach to his business as a Personal Trainer, all the while being living encouragement as he works along side his clients, proving that the principles and the program work and are achievable. He is a great role model, his experience is ‘real-life’ and one that is easy to relate to.

George gets on well with a wide range of people – he is caring and accepts and understands the needs of others. With these qualities he combines his formal training in instruction and coaching to bring his own fun to working out. He has a great sense of humour and always finds a level of understanding with his clients to work and laugh together. I believe the laughter and fun George brings to his clients is a great way for people to enjoy lifestyle change!

Through my years as a regional representative athlete of various disciplines and also my years of medical training – I have been coached, lectured and taught many opinions on exercise, fitness training and healthy living. George’s version of the 12 week challenge and the underlying principles this is based on are sound and more importantly, adjusted to the individual.

This is the aspect that I particularly appreciated from George - flexibility.
•    Flexibility in providing information to doctors vs. athletes vs. sloths – he provides quality information in digestible quantities pitched at the level of understanding of his individual client.
•    Flexibility in our supervised sessions – to fit around work, children, weather and whims – gym sessions, outdoor cardio and even team sport sessions.
•    Flexibility to maintain focus while dealing with injuries, changing goals and other unforeseen barriers that without encouragement, many would not overcome.

George has guided me to new levels in my understanding of my own health and fitness and I continue to support his efforts in helping others on their journey.
